Building HVAC systems consume large amounts of energy. Schedules are implemented in order to reduce energy usage and expenditure as much as possible while providing for a safe and comfortable environment for students, visitors, faculty and staff.
This policy applies to the Urbana-Champaign campus, and contains supplemental information and guidelines to support adherence to the Campus Energy Use Policy.
A schedule of the hours of operation of the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in each campus building is maintained by F&S Energy Services. This policy is an extension of the Campus Energy Use Policy, and is implemented under the authority of the Executive Director of Facilities & Services.
Requests for changes in HVAC schedules/services should be made to F&S Energy Services, (217) 244-2865; malfunctions in HVAC systems should be reported to the F&S Service Office, (217) 333-0340.
Requests for the activation of HVAC systems at other than scheduled times should be limited to situations which require such services to conduct official campus business.
Requests for changes in the operating schedule, or for HVAC services at other than scheduled times, should be directed to the F&S Service Office, (217) 333-0340.
Malfunctions in HVAC systems should be reported to the F&S Service Office, (217) 333-0340.
