Purpose

To ensure the maximum use of limited campus parking facilities and regulate the parking of all motor vehicles and motorcycles.

Scope

This policy applies to all licensed motor vehicles and motorcycles parked on or in any campus property or facility.

Authority

Office of the Chancellor.

Policy

Parking on University property is permitted only in areas designated as specific parking areas by appropriate permit or payment. Motor vehicles and motorcycles may not be parked on University pedestrian walks, bicycle lanes, or other grounds areas.

Definitions

  • Licensed Motor VehiclesMotor-powered conveyances that are licensed for operation on roadways.

Procedures

The Parking Department posts its Parking Rules & Regulations on its website. While printed versions are available through the Parking Department office, the online published document will be considered to be the document of record for which all persons who operate or park a motor vehicle on the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus must comply.
